
Nursing Research Advocacy Award

Purpose
The Nursing Research Advocacy Award recognizes a current FNINR ambassador who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to advocating for nursing research support at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR). This individual excels in communication strategies directed at congressional and political leaders, as well as community members, using various platforms and methods to raise awareness and drive support for nursing research.
Award Selection Process
This award is selected by the FNINR Advocacy Committee and does not accept nominations. The Advocacy Committee will conduct a comprehensive review process and select the award recipient based on the established criteria.
Evaluation Criteria
- Years as Ambassador
- Documented Contacts with Congressional, Political, and/or Community Leaders
- Contacts may include meetings, phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication with congressional, political, and/or community leaders.
- Scoring will be based on the number of contacts made in the past calendar year.
- Other Evidence of Advocacy
- Evidence may include social media campaigns/posts; published letters to the editor or opinion pieces; public lectures or speeches; participation in webinars or other educational outreach efforts.
- Scoring will be based on the potential impact of the submitted evidence.
