What advice would you give your younger self?
Become more involved in policy development in nursing.

What made you want to pursue a career in nursing?
My older sister was a nurse.

What book should every nurse read?
The Growth and Development of Nurse Leaders by Angela Barron Mc Bride.

What has been your most interesting/surprising outcome while conducting nursing research?
Data collection during the research study takes a long time.

What is a fun fact many people may not know about you?
I write novels.

About Donna

Dr. Zucker is a recognized expert in behavioral treatment for stress in incarcerated persons both in the US and abroad, particularly those with substance use disorder. Dr. Zucker has developed several stress reduction labyrinths for students, faculty, homeless and incarcerated persons, to enhance healing and well health. She is a Veriditas certified labyrinth facilitator and is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She has experience teaching student nurses how to use SBIRT as well as harm reduction techniques, funded by SAMHSA in 2016 and 2020. She is currently researching cannabis use in older adults.
