What made you want to pursue a career in nursing?
Nursing profession offers the opportunity for me to create a positive impact within the community and on public health. It allows me to connect with people on an individual level, bringing science, technology and compassion, to contribute to the healthcare team.
About Kumhee
Kumhee Ro is an assistant professor at Seattle University College of Nursing. Her scholarship interests include informing legislative and regulatory policy to ensure that a well-trained health workforce supply can meet the demands across the country; advancing health equity through improving patient-clinician concordance; and improving access through clinical education and training for interprofessional primary care teams. She leads local and national initiatives aimed at expansion, support, and advancement of the nursing workforce. She spent over a decade providing frontline clinical care to immigrants and underserved communities of all ages in various settings, including primary care and emergency department. Ro is a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow 2022-2023 at the National Academy of Medicine. She received a BSN, MSN for adult/geriatric nurse practitioner, a post- master’s certificate to become a family nurse practitioner, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Washington School of Nursing.
